A bit of background…

Woolmarket House is a six room bespoke B&B.

The building dates back to 1780, with a large chimney dividing the building, which caused many problems for the owners, the main issue being able to offer reliable and high speed WiFi to their guests, both within their hotel rooms and throughout the rest of the property.

Initially, we visited the site to understand the issues that Sarah, the hotel owner was experiencing…

The solution

Yappl implemented the following solutions:

  • With a challenging old building constructed of thick Cotswold stone walls, we installed and connected the system, carefully checking the positions that were required for simplicity of working in a tight space and aesthetically looking good for the rooms.
  • Provided firewalls to protect against malicious traffic and virus’.
  • Routed all wired devices to our switch to create a single manageable network.

“The one problem I experienced whilst we were switching broadband supplier, was that BT hadn’t switched the line over so a Yappl engineer came that day to sort out BTs mistake!” – Sarah  

The benefits

  • Yappl are now able to manage the network remotely and identify any issues.
  • Enabled fast roaming provides a seamless transitioning between access points without a loss of connection.
  • The B&B has the ability to offer guest voucher access with customisable time limits with the option of charging for Wi-Fi.
  • Ability to have multiple networks that they can customise and change as they please.

“The phone system is great, as by dialling one number you can reach various staff. Voice messages arriving as emails is a great feature as I can deal with them when I’m not physically at the B&B.” – Sarah
