This summer, Yappl’s Sales Director Tonia Baldwin has been leading the way in supporting local children and families through a charitable initiative with Valley CiDS – a valued Yappl customer and community charity working across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.
Tonia coordinated the collection, donation, and purchase of essential school items – including uniforms, PE kits, school bags, shoes, and lunchboxes – helping children supported by Valley CiDS start the new school year with confidence.
Valley CiDS provides hope and practical support for children, young people, and families in local communities. Inspired by their mission, Tonia selected the charity as her personal cause for 2025 and rallied support from her network. Contributions came from mobile network account managers, Yappl customers and employees, as well as friends, family, and parents from Danceworks Dance School.
Reflecting on the initiative, Tonia said:
“Something as simple as a new school uniform or a lunchbox can make such a difference to a child’s confidence at the start of the school year. Valley CiDS do amazing work for local families, and I’m proud to play a small part in supporting them.”
Valley CiDS also expressed their gratitude. Kate Hill, Head of Children & Families Outreach, commented:
“I'm incredibly humbled by all of your efforts. It's been so moving to see such a generous donation, but also one that's had so much thought, care and attention to detail put into it. I hope Tonia and the Yappl team know what a difference you're making.”
With the success of the summer collection, Tonia and Yappl have pledged to continue collecting pre-loved school items throughout the year, ensuring even more children in the community can benefit in the future.
At Yappl, we’re proud to support causes that matter to our people, our customers, and our communities.
