A bit of background…

The Fairmount hotel was paying for two separate broadband lines.

One for a staff network and one for their guests. They were trying to get Wi-Fi throughout the property using 4 access points but these were placed in really poor locations, such as the cleaners cupboards.


The solution

Yappl implemented the following solutions:

  • Surveyed the site to find the best possible location for access points to enable full Wi-Fi coverage.
  • Created 2 networks from a single broadband connection so there was no need for the customer to pay for two separate broadbands. This was a guest network and a staff network.
  • Provided firewalls to protect against malicious traffic and virus’.
  • Cleaned up his office wiring by adding a 24port switch so that all wires can be routed to a single device.

  • We are now able to manage his network remotely and identify any issues.
  • Enabled fast roaming to give seamless transitioning between access points without a loss of connection.
  • They can now control the bandwidth of each access point and prioritise his networks.
  • Ability to offer guest voucher access with customisable time limits so they can charge for Wi-Fi.
  • Ability to have multiple networks which are customisable.
